Events Tab

Accessing Events

1. Open an animal's detail page
2. Click the Events tab

This tab is visible to owners, admins, and moderators.

Event Overview

The Events tab shows all calendar events associated with this animal in chronological order.

Event Types

Event Information

Each event card displays:

• Event title
• Event type badge (color-coded)
• Start date (and end date if applicable)
• Status badge (Pending, Approved, Active, Completed, Cancelled, Returned)
• Description (if provided)
• Location (if provided)
• Assigned volunteers

Adding Events

Click the Add Event button to create a new event:

1. Choose the event type
2. Set the date and time
3. Add a title and description
4. Optionally add a location
5. Assign volunteers if needed

The current animal is automatically linked to any event you create from this tab.

Editing Events

Click the Edit (pencil) icon on any event to modify it.

Note: Transport and foster events cannot be edited from this tab. They are managed through their respective features.

Viewing in Calendar

Click View in Calendar to see this animal's events in the full calendar view. This opens the organization calendar filtered to show only events for this animal.

Transport Events

Transport events have special handling:

• Display origin and destination information
• Show volunteer assignments per leg
• Include a View Transport Details button
• Link directly to the transport request page

Status Colors

Events display status with color-coded badges:

Best Practices

• Log important dates - Record vet visits, behavior assessments, and milestones
• Use descriptive titles - Make events easy to identify at a glance
• Add locations - Especially for off-site appointments
• Track medical appointments - Create events for upcoming vet visits
• Document adoption meetings - Record meet-and-greets with potential adopters
